Hotwing

Hotwing joins in episode 21 as an emergency measure, with Mon*Star holding all five founders and Stargazer left on his own. He is a professional stage magician and showman, and the series treats what he does as actual magic rather than technology.

The list is long: levitation, lock-picking, a forehead-mounted laser that starts fires, contortion, conjured objects, a spinning random-fire attack, and the ability to turn other beams back, the Light-Star included. Zeek’s Power supplies the mechanic that defines him, which is that all of it runs off a Magical Orb and lapses unless the orb is replenished about every fourteen years.

His species is never stated. Fandom infers from the ears that he is not human, and that is a reader’s inference rather than anything the show says. His Fighting Hawk, Gyro, does not arrive with him and turns up fourteen episodes later.

Voice. Unresolved, and interestingly so. Wikipedia gives Adolph Caesar early and Doug Preis later. Caesar died on 6 March 1986 and Hotwing debuted that October, and the claim on Caesar’s own Wikipedia article has carried a citation-needed tag since 2017. The ThunderCats wiki assigns Preis to Mo-Lec-U-Lar and Windhammer rather than to Hotwing.
