Yes-Man’s fixed job is operating the transformation chamber, which means the most repeated sequence in the series depends on a sycophant doing his one task correctly every week.
He appears in all but eight episodes, and the eight are known: The Origin Story, Magnetic Attraction, Operation Big Freeze, The Fighting Hawks, Flashback, The Bounty Hunter Returns, Gangwar - Part I and Match-Up. Because the pilot is among them, his first appearance is episode two rather than episode one. The show gives him no powers, no past and no species beyond the serpentine design.
No More Mr. Nice Guy is the anomaly and it is a good one. He gets into the transformation chamber himself and comes out with intelligence, ambition and flight, though no armoured form, then loses all of it by the end of the episode with no aftermath at all. Uncle Rattler retroactively gives him a family in the shape of an uncle, which the series never revisits.
