What this site is

Most fan sites open by telling you how many years they have been going, and there is a fair reason for that, because longevity is close to the only credential a hobby archive can offer. This one went up in September 2026 and has none of it. So the honest thing is to set out what is here, rather than dress a first month up as a history.

silverhawks.tv covers the 1986 Rankin/Bass series and nothing else: sixty-five episodes across one season, animated in Japan by Pacific Animation Corporation, scored by Bernard Hoffer, and story-edited by Peter Lawrence, who had come off ThunderCats the year before. There was never a second season, and there has never been a reboot. For an archive that looks at first like a shortage. But it is the reason the site is built the way it is: sixty-five episodes is a run one site can actually finish, and a small subject covered properly beats a large one covered thinly.

Everything else on this page follows from that.

What is here, and what is not

The episode guide runs the full sixty-five, with writer and broadcast date against each one. The character files take in the squadron and Mon*Star's Mob, though only two are written out at any length so far, and the rest land as we get to them. The toy pages cover the Kenner line that arrived in 1987 and the Super7 releases that turned up four decades later.^[1] Several sections are thinner than they will be in six months; where a page is short we would rather leave it short than pad it out with the same four facts turned around.

How it is run

This is a hobby and not a business. There are no paywalls, no subscriptions, and nothing in the archive sits behind a payment. Some links out to shops earn a commission, and that money pays for the hosting. But no shop has any say in what gets covered or how it is written, and every page carrying one of those links says so at the top of the page, rather than in a footer nobody reads.

Corrections

Getting something wrong is normal on a site this young, and the fan record on SilverHawks is thinner and more contradictory than the one kept on its sister show, so a correction is welcome here rather than politely tolerated.^[2] Where two sources disagree and neither is clearly the better one, we publish the disagreement instead of quietly picking whichever version is tidier.

[1] The Kenner line ran to two series, 1987 and 1988. LJN, who had made the ThunderCats figures and might have been the obvious choice, was lined up for SilverHawks and passed at the last minute!

[2] Episode numbering is the usual battleground. Broadcast order and the order the scripts were written in do not match. The guide here follows broadcast, because that is the sequence a reader can check against a 1986 TV listing.
