He drains memories with a prod-like weapon and stores them on cassette tapes worn across his chest. Nothing else in the series is so completely of its year.
The important limit is that stolen memories do not carry the victim’s skill with them. He holds the data without knowing how to use it, so he sells rather than uses, and every plot he is in turns on somebody else being the buyer. The fan character guide singles him out as the clearest example of an associate rather than a Mob regular, and the record bears that out: five episodes, being Zero The Memory Thief, Countdown to Zero, Gotbucks, Burnout and The Blue Door.
Burnout is his largest role. He takes Professor Power’s memory, and with it the Artificial Sun that lights the galaxy. The show never establishes his species, his origin, or what happens to the tapes he sells.
Voice. Wikipedia credits Peter Newman and nothing corroborates it. Both fan wikis leave the field empty. thundercats-ho’s episode recap does note in passing that Zero sounds like a Frenchman, and a listener’s observation is not a credit.
