Bedlama is the planet the show reaches for whenever it needs somewhere with a government to threaten. Mo-Lec-U-Lar replaces its governor outright in one episode, the Mob try to flood it in another, and a third takes its name.
Its politics are where the fan record falls apart. Wikipedia names the governor Sanders and both fan wikis name him Governor Xander, and no source quotes a line of dialogue either way, so this is most likely one spoken name heard two ways by two different people. Both are recorded here and neither is resolved.
One wiki carries a much fuller account of the place: squid-headed Bedlamians who design the galaxy’s weapons, a Brigadier Brightlight running the police, and Bedlama as host of the Great Galaxy Race. None of it is corroborated anywhere else, so none of it is repeated here.
