He has one at the briefing where Stargazer explains what the new posting is up against, which puts it in the show from the beginning. He brings it out against the SilverHawks over the Artificial Sun, having carried it broken down in the Roll-Up Bag.

It comes back when he goes after the squadron for putting him on Penal Planet 10, and again alongside Mumbo Jumbo and Buzz-Saw on a later job.
