Bluegrass brings a guitar to a gunfight and it works. Hot Licks is a white electric guitar with the laser coming out of the head rather than the pickups, and it fires a blue stream that the show treats as part energy weapon and part sound wave. Stargazer takes one look at it during the briefing on Earth and calls it a toy. Steelheart is the one who is impressed.
Then he takes on Melodia and the Sound Smasher, two musicians shooting at each other with their instruments, and Hot Licks wins the exchange. There is no image in the series more SilverHawks than that one! It is also strong at long range, and Bluegrass once used it as emergency propulsion for the Hot-Seat after the engine was shot out.
